Have you lived life to the full?

I have just left a memorial service where I sat with a knot in my throat, watching a loving wife and her two beautiful boys standing in front of their friends and family, mourning the sudden loss of her husband and their father.

Life moves at such a fast pace, days turn into weeks, and weeks into months.  We are so busy doing what the day requires, making sure that we tick off all the items on our to do list.  Making sure that everything is planned and organised.  The house is spotless, the dinner is on time and the children have all their homework done.  These things are nessesary, but are they really the most important part of life.  We seem to have become so involved in the random items that we need to do that we have forgotten what is important and life changing.

Today was a very sad and emotional day, one that will leave yet another unexplained void in the world.  I sat quietly listening to all the messages from their beloved family and friends and it suddenly occurred to me that it is time.  Today is the day for change, as we don’t know what tomorrow will bring, and sadly what it will take away.

Things have got to change!

If you were told that today would be your last day on earth, would you be happy to leave things as they are?

  • What would you do different?
  • What would you say?
  • Would you be satisfied and happy with the memory you have left behind?
  • Have you made the impact that you wanted to make?
  • Have you told the people you love how much they mean to you?

Sadly my answer is NO!!!!!   NO, NO, NO.  I need to make some very big changes.

Today is the day for change!

I need to do more of what is life changing and less of the small stuff.  I need to focus on what will have an impact on tomorrow and to stop sweating the small stuff.

I need to make more lasting memories everyday, and not just when the time is right.

Everywhere we look, we see the words LIVE, LAUGH, LOVE.   Such beautiful words, but are we actually LIVING  life to the full, creating a picture that we are proud to share?  LAUGH:  Are we feeling true joy and happiness?  Do we see the funny side of life’s challenges?  Do we take the time to make our friends and family smile?  LOVE:  Do we kiss those we love goodbye and tell them that we love the?  Love not only those around you, but those that enter your thoughts when you least expect.  Love yourself, this is probably the hardest kind of love, as we are trained to focus on every flaw that we have.

We know that nobody lives forever, but few people truly live for today.

Today i choose to change this and hope you do too.

We all expect that at the end of the day, the front door will open and that special person will come in, but what happens if you know that the door will never ever open again.  Do you believe that you have done enough.

Life is unpredictable.  Life is not fair.  We cannot garden tee what tomorrow brings, but we can make today the best day ever.  A day to rem
